Test Your Knowledge of Heartbreaking Bruins Playoff Losses All losses hurt, but some hurt more than others. The Bruins’ loss in Game 7 of the 2009 conference quarterfinals was about as bad as it gets.

The B’s had steamrolled the league all season, entering the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the East and finishing just a point behind San Jose for most in the NHL. They then crushed the rival Canadiens in the opening round of the playoffs — something the Bruins and their fans don’t get to celebrate too often.

The good times kept on rolling through Game 1 of the conference semifinals, which the B’s won handily 3-1. Then, things took a turn for the worse, and three consecutive losses followed by the Sucker Punch Heard ‘Round the Hub had hockey fans on edge.

Though the B’s battled back, but with the crowd standing and chanting “We want it!” in unison, they lost at home in overtime of Game 7.

You probably don’t want to remember, but who was the team that eliminated the Bruins?
