When he's not pulling double duty as a Red Sox starter/reliever, or spending time with his wife and two young children, knuckleballer Tim Wakefield is working with his favorite charity, Pitching in for Kids.
Wakefield, along with Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek, has devoted much of his time and efforts to improving the lives of children through Pitching in for Kids. The charity puts on a multitude of special events, including celebrity golf and poker tournaments, to raise funds and awareness toward enriching children's lives.
During his episode of After the Game: Work Hard, Live Well, Give Back, Wakefield took viewers inside a children's care facility focused on enhancing the lives of children between the ages 6 and under. Wakefield and his wife, Stacy, stop in for story time before heading out to the playground for some fun.
