It may not have been the prettiest win at times, but at the end of the day, it was a win — a division win at that — for the Patriots on Sunday afternoon in Foxboro.
The Patriots bounced back after being slowed down in a Week 2 loss to the Jets by holding on to beat the Buffalo Bills, 38-30.
Tom Brady had another impressive performance for the Pats. He got the Patriots offense rolling when he found Randy Moss for a 7-yard touchdown pass on the way to a 21-for-27, 252-yard effort that included three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Recently signed running back Danny Woodhead provided a nice spark for New England as well. The 5-foot-9 running back rushed for 42 yards on only three carries, highlighted by an impressive 22-yard touchdown dash.
While the Patriots scored at will, it was another head-scratching day on the defensive side of the ball. The Bills, who had scored only 17 points combined through their first two weeks, lit up the scoreboard for 30, while gaining well over 300 yards.
Rookie running back C.J. Spiller sparked the offensive outburst, catching a 5-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick in the second quarter before really showing off his speed on 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the third quarter.
