Who Will Lead the Bruins in Points This Season? As daylight shrinks, temperatures fall and students quietly shuffle back into classrooms, things in Boston’s North End are just beginning to heat up.

The Bruins kick off the 2010-11 season with a week of captains’ practices at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, Mass., starting on Tuesday — the first of many exciting days ahead for fans of the Black and Gold.

While the B’s may have a few question marks heading into the campaign after their early exit in last spring’s postseason run, many fans are wondering if the offense can get back to its high-flying ways two years ago.

Last season, centers Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci each notched 52 points to lead the way. Zdeno Chara (44 points) edged out Mark Recchi by a point while Blake Wheeler rounded out the Top 5 with 38 points.

The addition of Nathan Horton offers the B’s attack a 30-goal scorer. Flanking Boston’s playmaking centers will only improve Horton’s production as the 25-year-old winger can easily reach the 70-point plateau for the first time in his seven-year career witch such a strong supporting cast. Rookie center/winger Tyler Seguin clearly has the goods to contribute, but it’s too early to tell how the youngster’s game will translate in the NHL.
