Third Period, 17:23, Bruins 3-0: Strange sight on the power play as Milan Lucic and Ed Jovanovski get tangled up.
They shove and drop the gloves, but neither guy throws a punch as they hold on until the linesmen break it up. They each get two minutes for slashing and two minutes for roughing.
Third Period, 16:23, Bruins 3-0: The Bruins go right back on the power play as Keith Yandle is whistled for hooking.
The Bruins are 0 for 3 on the power play, but do have 12 shots so far on the man-advantage.
Third Period, 14:58, Bruins 3-0: The Bruins can't convert on the power play, and are very lucky not to give up a short-handed tally.
A nice passing play on a short-handed break nearly produces as goal, but Belanger's shot from the left off a return pass from Yandle hit the outside of the net while Thomas had dove to tthe other post expecting Yandle to shoot.
Third Period, 12:58, Bruins 3-0: More good work from Boston's fourth line, as Brad Marchand draws a hooking penalty on Vern Fiddler.
The line of Marchand-Campbell-Thornton has been strong all game, providing both energy and scoring chances.
Third Period, 11:56, Bruins 3-0: Tim Thomas comes up with another stop to keep Phoenix off the board.
Thomas has been perfect so far in his first start of the year, and he even picked up a secondary assist on that last goal by Seguin.
Third Period, 9:14, Bruins 3-0: After being back on their heels a bit for a few shifts, the Bruins counter with Tyler Seguin scoring his first NHL goal on a breakaway.
Great high outlet pass by Ryder to spring Seguin, who gloved it down and finished with the backhand as he fended off a defender and crashed into the net.
Huge goal for the Bruins and for Seguin's confidence as he buried that chance like a sesoned pro.

Krejci already has a pair of assists, and wold love to add a goal in his home country.
Third Period, 4:18, Bruins 2-0: The Bruins have a chance to pad the lead with a 2-on-1, with Blake Wheeler feeding Jordan Caron in front.
The rookie does a good job to get off a shot from a bouncing pass, but Bryzgalov makes the stop.
Third Period, 3:00, Bruins 2-0: The Bruins playing a controlled game here in the third. There's been some chaces back and forth early, but Boston doing a decent job of keeping Phoenix at bay.
Chara delivered a big hit on Vrbata in the early going.

There have been a couple of scoring changes. Krejci gets an assist added on Lucic's goal, while Recchi finally gets recognized for his work setting up Horton's goal.
Second Intermission Notes: This one had the look of another frustrating afternoon as the Bruins did everything but score while dominating the Coyotes through the first period and a half.
But Milan Lucic broke the ice late and Nathan Horton added a huge goal in the final minute to reward the Bruins for their strong effort.
Boston holds a 27-16 edge in shots, but Phoenix goalie Ilya Bryzgalov was the difference early. Tim Thomas has been tested as often, but has come up with some big stops. He's also been helped by the defense, which has blocked 12 shots as well. Mark Stuart and Dennis Seidenberg lead the way there with three blocks apiece.
End Second Period, Bruins 2-0: After two strong periods to begin the game, the Bruins were finally rewarded with a pair of late goals.
The second strike by Horton was especially important to give the Bruins a little separation heading into the third. Horton has factored in all four Boston goals so far this season with three goals and an assist in his first two games as a Bruin.

Huge goal for Boston to gain a little separation. Mark Recchi with the good work on the left side to help get the puck free to Horton for the quick shot.
Second Period, 18:02, Bruins 1-0: Both teams with chances after Lucic finally broke the ice, but it remains a one-goal game.
Nice cycling job down low by the rookie Caron along with Bergeron to give the Bruins a chance in close.
Second Period, 14:58, Bruins 1-0: Scary sight there for the Bruins, as Keith Yandle leads a rush for Phoenix to create a scoring chance.
Thomas makes the save, but gets caught out of the net for the rebound before the puck gets cleared out of danger.
Second Period, 12:11, Bruins 1-0: The Bruins finally cash in on a chance, as Milan Lucic blasts a shot in for the lead.
It took 26 shots, but Boston finally gets one past Bryzgalov as he sends a hard shot in from the high slot. Horton adds another point with the only assist. The new Bruin has factored into all three Boston goals so far this season.
Second Period, 9:54, 0-0: The action has slowed a bit in this one, though the Bruins still lead the shot count 10-1 in the second and 25-9 overall.
Phoenix has evened the face-off battle though. The Coyotes have won 12 of 15 draws this period and it's 19-19 for the game.
Second Period, 7:35, 0-0: Another good bid for the Bruins, as a Lucic hit leads to a chance for Horton from the right slot, but Bryzgalov makes another save.
Shots now 9-1 in the second and 24-9 overall for the Bruins, but the score remains 0-0.
Second Period, 5:29, 0-0: The Bruins once again had plenty of possession time in the Phoenix zone and a few chances, but can't cash in on the power play.
Boston has to take advantage of one of these chances and not let the Coyotes steal a lead.
Second Period, 3:29, 0-0: The Bruins will get another chance on the power play, as Petr Prucha goes off for elbowing Andrew Ference.
The Bruins need to convert one of these chances. They can't let all their good work to this point go for naught by not getting the first goal of this game.
Second Period, 1:58, 0-0: Brad Marchand makes a steal and has a chance down the right wing, but can't get it past Bryzgalov.
The fourth line is playing very well in this one, with Marchand, Thornton and Campbell creating some chances to go along with their physical play.

Hopefully not a jinx after pointing out his strong face-off stats in the first.
First Intermission Notes: The Bruins have been controlling this one, but they don't have anything to show for it yet.
And Phoenix is already starting to push back after weathering the early storm. Boston holds a 15-8 edge in shots after one, but the Bruins were up 5-0 and 11-1 in that category before Phoenix started to mount a counterattack.
Chara leads the Bruins with four shots and has already played a game-high 10:20. The Bruins are also bringing more physical ply than saturday, out-hitting Phoenix 11-6. Shawn Thornton is making the most of his limited ice-time, with a team-high three hits in 3:15. Blake Wheeler and Michael Ryder are more surprising contributors in that category with two apiece.
The Bruins' domination in possession time is also reflected in the face-off stats, as they've won 16 of 23 draws (70 percent). Face-off wins are an under-appreciated stat, and Krejci is having a particularly good day in the circle, winning 6 of 9 draws.
End First Period, 0-0: The first 20 minutes are in the books, and it was a much stronger start for the Bruins.
Boston controlled play for most of the period and dominated long stretches, but they couldn't come away with any goals for their efforts as it remains scoreless heading into the first intermission.
First Period, 17:16, 0-0: Dangerous turnover in the Bruins zone, but Phoenix can't capitilize.
Chara's breakout pass skipped over Caron's stick and was intercepted by Fiddler. The Bruins have played too well this period to give up the lead with sloppy mistakes like that.
First Period, 16:02, 0-0: The Bruins are able to kill off the penalty as Thornton exits the box.
Mark Stuart made a nice block and clear midway through that power play. Stuart wasn't used on the PK a lot last year, but has been a regular on it in these first two games. A stay-at-home defenseman, he should have the skillset to be a solid penalty killer and looks to finally be getting a chance to show what he can do in that role.
First Period, 14:02, 0-0: The first little bit of nastiness takes place as tempers flare behind the Phoenix net.
Ed Jovanovski gives an extra shot to Krejci after the whistle and Shawn Thornton comes flying in and drops the gloves to stick up for Krejci. No fight develops though, as the linesmen are in between them right away.
Thornton gets the only penalty for roughing, so the Bruins go on the PK for the first time in this one.
First Period, 12:30, 0-0: The Coyotes make a rare foray into the Bruins end, with Keith Yandle pinching in for a chance.
Big save by Thomas, who's starting to see some shots after the Bruins spent most of the first 10 minutes of the game in the Phoenix end.
First Period, 10:15, 0-0: The Bruins with their best chance yet, as Brad Marchand makes a great pass out from the right boards to Chara, who walks in alone for the bid.
Bryzgalov makes another big save though, robbing Chara in close. Excellent shift for the Bruins, but they have to get a goal or two out of this strong start. They're dominating everywhere but the scoreboard right now.
First Period, 7:35, 0-0: The Bruins are getting the start they needed. Now all they need is to convert some of these chances.
Boston has a 10-1 lead in shots so far, but Bryzgalov has kept it scoreless with some big saves. thomas hasn't seen much action yet other than the one short-handed bid by Korpikoski.
First Period, 5:19, 0-0: The Bruins can't convert on that power-play chance, though they did have some decent pressure.
They finished with four shots on the power play and the unit of Krejci-Recchi-Wheeler up front and Chara-Hunwick at the points had some good possession time in the zone.
Phoenix did have a good short-handed chance though, but Thomas made the save on Korpikoski's shot from the right wing.
First Period, 3:19, 0-0: The Bruins get the first power-play chance in this one, as Shane Doan goes off for slashing.
That came after another chance in front by Krejci.
First Period, 1:50, 0-0: Much better energy to start this one.
The Bruins' fourth line grinds out a nice shift, with Shawn thornton firing in a shot from the slot and another bid from the point by Zdeno Chara nearly getting tipped home. That's the kind of energy the Bruins need.
First Period, 0:00, 0-0: And we're off, with David Krejci's line again getting the start.
Krejci wins the draw to open it. For you fane of numerology, this one begins at 10:10 on 10/10/2010 (at least for the folks back in Boston, it's 4:10 in Prague).
10 a.m.: This one will be getting under way shortly, as the Bruins will look for a better start than the way they opened Saturday's game.
One note to be aware of in this one is that the Bruins are officially the visiting team after playing their "home" game in Prague on Saturday.
That can have a practical impact, as the Coyotes will get the last change and be able to match lines as they see fit.
9:45 a.m.: Based on the warm-ups, Jordan Caron will indeed make his NHL debut in this one after sitting out on Saturday.
He should add some energy, which could be a good thing after the slow start Boston got off to in the first game. Daniel Paille is the healthy scratch up front, while Adam McQuaid remains out on defense.
It's the same six guys on the blue line, but the pairings have been altered. The tandem of Dennis Seidenberg and Matt Hunwick, which struggled mightily on Saturday, has been split up, with Seidenberg skating with Mark Stuart and Hunwick joining Andrew Ference.

9 a.m.: The Bruins are getting ready for Game No. 2 of the season, as they'll try to earn the split in Prague with Phoenix.
They'll have a couple new faces in the lineup as they do so, with Tim Thomas getting the nod in goal and rookie forward Jordan Caron expected to make his NHL debut.
Caron was a healthy scratch on Saturday, but is expected to play on a line with Patrice Bergeron and Blake Wheeler in this one.
That would push Mark Recchi down to Tyler Seguin's line. It could also put Daniel Paille, who had a rough game on Saturday including a giveaway that led to a breakaway and a goal for Phoenix, in the press box for this one, but coach Claude Julien hasn't finalized the lineup.

Saturday, 11 p.m.: The first game didn't go quite the way the Bruins had envisioned, but at least they don't have to wait long for a shot at redemption.
The Bruins will face Phoenix again in Prague on Sunday looking to break even in their two-game season-opening set before returning to North America.
The Coyotes set the tone early on Saturday, scoring four goals in the first two periods to take control. The Bruins did mount a rally in the third period as Nathan Horton scored a pair of goals in his first game with Boston, but it wasn't enough to avoid a 5-2 setback.
Bruins captain Zdeno Chara, who signed a seven-year extension just before the game on Saturday, believes the Bruins need to impose their will on the Coyotes more than they did in the opener.
"I thought we were kind of flat at the beginning," said Chara. "Maybe we were a little bit nervous, too. We were forcing some plays, which is totally uncharacteristic for our team. We just have to play our style, be more relaxed and try to force our game plan on the opponent."
