Bruins Set to Honor Hockey Legend Milt Schmidt As the Bruins look ahead to a promising season, the team will remember its past and celebrate "Milt Schmidt Night" on Thursday at the TD Garden.

One of the greatest members of the Bruins' organization, the 92-year-old Schmidt is the only Bruin to serve as a player, captain, coach, and general manager.  Before this Thursday's game against the Maple Leafs, Schmidt will appear at the Sports Museum's unveiling of a special exhibit dedicated to Schmidt at around 5:15 p.m.

After the ceremony at the museum, the Bruins will honor Schmidt on the ice.

During his career as a player, Schmidt made the All-Star team four times, won the MVP award in 1951, topped the league in scoring in 1940 and won two Stanley Cups in 1939 and 1941. He also won two more championships as the Bruins' GM in 1970 and 1972. He accomplished all that despite missing three seasons while serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. Schmidt was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961.

The Bruins are coming off a loss to the Rangers and look to get back to winning against Toronto on Thursday at 7 p.m.
