Cancer Survivor Kirk MacDonald Discusses Importance of Pink at the Rink at Providence

Providence Bruins forward Kirk MacDonald has a special connection with the latest promotion going through Providence.

The second-year P-Bruin is a cancer survivor and is five years into remission. While the forward insists that cancer awareness is important every day of the year, he is glad to see such a great effort going toward cancer research.

"As long as they don't paint the ice pink," MacDonald says. "Love wearing the pink jerseys, but when they paint the ice pink it just makes it hard to play because you can't see the puck."
