Apparently No. 1 overall pick Taylor Hall isn't juicing up the crowd as much as the Edmonton Oilers' front office anticipated.

So, naturally, they're turning to cheerleaders. Yes, cheerleaders — not even ice girls.

According to the Oilers' official website, the team is hosting tryouts this Friday, "to become a part of Edmonton’s newest professional cheerleading team."

Duties include performing at Rexall Place during Oilers home games, signing autographs and posing for pictures during the game, entertaining and lifting the spirits of the Edmonton Oilers community and model in the first annual Edmonton Oilers Cheerleader calendar.

So if you're an "athletic girl in good physical condition," and you're in the area — or, if you just want to protest something — head down to Telus Field for an info session on Tuesday night.
