Do you remember the couple from Houston that gained national attention when boyfriend Bo Wyble allowed a foul ball at an Astros game to hit his girlfriend, Sara Saco-Vertiz? It was one of many hysterical, offbeat stories that made headlines during the 2010 MLB season.

What’s not funny is going to jail for lying about your identity.

Saco-Vertiz was questioned in a South Florida night club on Saturday when an officer caught her drinking wine, according to the Orlando Sentinel. According to the arrest report, she lied to police about her name, residence and age.

The 19 year-old claimed to be 21-year-old Elissa Hamman of Buffalo, N.Y.

The officer tested her by asking if she was a fan of the Buffalo Sabres. Saco-Vertiz said she wasn’t and declared loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys.

The officer warned her that if she was lying it would only make things worse, but she stuck to her fake identity.

After a 10-minute exchange, she admitted she was lying and handed over proper identification.

She was then arrested for “obstruction by disguise” and was bailed out of jail nearly five hours later.
