Since her Wimbledon victory in 2004, Sharapova has been one of the best tennis players in the world. She has won three Grand Slam titles in her career and been ranked No. 1 for women four times.
Born in Russia, Sharapova, 23, moved to the U.S. when she was 7. She lived in Florida, where her family had very little money, and took odd jobs just to afford tennis lessons.
The lessons have paid off. Sharapova is an international icon and has a higher profile than her Slovenian fiancée Vujacic.
