The Celtics may have trotted out a solid starting five on Friday at the Garden, but there was an O'Neal missing.

While Shaquille O'Neal got the start in Friday night's matchup with the Knicks, Jermaine O'Neal has taken the night off with a sore knee, according to a team spokesman.

JO has battled a few injuries already this season, and has reported problems with his wrist, hamstring and back since suiting up with the Celtics. O'Neal did not join the C's for their team introductions before the tip off with New York.

O'Neal played through the pain in the first two games of the regular season, registering 12.5 minutes per game.
