Jorge Posada No Longer Wanted by Yankees Fans

Before the 2010 season began, a lot was made about the quartet of Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada as being a remarkable group that's hung together through many years (save for a few years in Houston for Petitte).

Now, Yankees fans have seen just about enough out of one of those four players.

The New York Post asked readers who they'd rather see behind the plate next season — Posada or Jesus Montero. The results had Montero garnering 68 percent of the vote, with Posada receiving just 32 percent.

Considering his age (39) and his position, it makes sense. Add in that his .248 batting average was his lowest since 1999, and it's all the more clear.

Montero, 20, his .289 for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, belting 21 home runs in the process.
