The Heat may have gotten LeBron James back earlier this week, but they’ll have to go a little longer without Dwyane Wade.

Wade announced on Twitter on Sunday that he will miss the Heat’s preseason matchup Monday against the Bobcats. This will be the fifth straight preseason game Wade has missed since injuring himself in the team’s first game against Detroit on Oct. 5.

Wade will still be in Chicago on Monday, engaged in what has become a lengthy custody battle with his ex-wife Siohvaughn Wade.

"You understand that situation, that comes before anything," James said Sunday. "Any time you're dealing with family, that comes before anything, and whenever he returns, then we'll be ready."

“We'll make sure we hold it down here. What he has going on, we're all in support [of him.]”

Wade has given no indication that he’ll be absent for the Heat’s regular season opener against the Boston Celtics on Oct. 26.

Wade is also still rehabbing his strained right hamstring, but his injury is not considered serious.
