Liverpool 14th After Matchday 9 in Premier League Power Rankings The Reds may still be in the relegation zone via goal differential, but their performance on Sunday was drastically different from how they had played previously this season — both in approach and result.

As a result, Liverpool has earned a spot four removed from relegation in this week’s power rankings. Still, they have a ways to go to catch the likes of Sunderland and West Brom, let alone Arsenal and Chelsea.

Those two teams sit atop the table and the rankings, though there is a highly competitive race for second. The Gunners, Manchester United and Manchester City all sit on 17 points, and each has a compelling claim to be considered Chelsea’s principal challenger.

City handed the Blue their only loss of the season. Arsenal decimated City at Eastlands on Sunday, and appears in top form, and Manchester United, unlike Chelsea and all other premier league squads, is undefeated.
