Matt Cain and Three Other San Francisco Giants Make Case for Best Hair in Baseball History Matt Cain has been spot-on throughout the playoffs, but his hair is getting a little out of control.

This World Series seems to go beyond baseball this year. It also seems to be a competition for the best hairdos. And just like on the scoreboard, the Giants are dominating.

Tim Lincecum owes at least a third of his Cy Young votes to his long hair, and closer Brian Wilson has a wacky look to match his wacky personality. Barry Zito sports moppy locks — even though he’s left off the playoff roster.

Unique hair goes way back in baseball. Just ask Red Sox Nation about Johnny Damon’s caveman look during the 2004 World Series run. From Oscar Gamble‘s afro to Mike Piazza having more fun as a blonde, baseball players aren’t afraid to experiment with their hair.
