It wasn’t all that long ago, though, that he was a fresh-faced 19-year-old, spending his lockout season in the AHL in Providence.
Now a mainstay in Boston, Bergeron has become a fan favorite. If you catch him at the right time, he may even let a little Boston accent slip.
It wasn’t always that way, as he reflects on his past with Kathryn Tappen on the series debut of The Big Bad Bruins Show.
“The biggest thing I remember is I learned English a lot more that year,” Bergeron said of the 2004-05 season. “It was all English the whole year, so that helped me a lot. … It was a big learning year.”
Check out a sneak peek of Kathryn’s interview with Bergeron below, and check out The Big Bad Bruins Show on Saturday at 6 p.m., before the Bruins take on the Rangers at the TD Garden.
