Randy Moss is an odd fellow.
It's hard to sum him up in words, but his thoughts on his return to Foxboro — the place where he was revered as a football hero for three years — offer a decent sample.
"I don't really have a feeling," he told the Boston Herald in Minnesota this week. "I'm just excited to be able to play football every week."
The quote adds just the latest chapter to the bizarre story that is Moss' 2010 season. It began with his over-the-top "appreciation" rant after the Patriots' Week 1 win over the Bengals, continued with his promotion of "invisible banks" and went even further with the trade that nobody saw coming.
After the trade, Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and Moss all had nothing but great things to say about each other. Brady even said this week that he still talks with Moss via text message.
So while his departure from New England is still shrouded in mystery, Moss isn't letting on any desire to stick it to his old team with a throwback performance.
And, despite the fact that he was outspoken in being unhappy about his lack of a contract extension with the Patriots, he told the Herald that he's not upset in the least that he's in the same situation in Minnesota.
"Everything's fine, man," he told the Herald. "I'm content. I'm satisfied. I'm OK. Ain't no problems."
Whatever you say, Randy.
