Shaquille O'Neal Impresses Bostonians With Statue Show It’s rare that your average, everyday fan has a chance to run into his or her favorite athlete. It’s even rarer to find an athlete who willingly throws himself into a crowded mass of people.

Shaquille O’Neal is quite clearly a rare bird.

While he’s obviously not like the rest of us in that he’s taller than 7 feet, weighs more than 320 pounds and has millions and millions of dollars, his personality is even bigger.

That much was on display on Thursday in Cambridge, Mass., when Shaq took his talents to Harvard Square and posed as a statue. In doing so, he opened himself up to fans touching him and messing with him, but Shaq was unflappable.

Some of the reactions in Harvard Square included:

“He’s sitting where, generally, homeless people sit right now. Like, he’s crazy.”

“No one in Germany would believe me.”

“He’s Shaquille O’Neal. There’s nothing else to say, right?”
