Jason Varitek will catch and bat seventh in what could possibly be his final game in a Red Sox uniform as he and his mates try to spoil the New York Yankees' division title hopes Sunday.

Varitek has said he would like to come back and play next season in Boston, but he will be a free agent and was only able to play in 39 games at the age of 38 this season due to a broken foot.

The captain will be making just his fourth start since returning from the disabled list just over a month ago. He figures to receive a warm ovation at Fenway Park.

Eric Patterson will be batting leadoff for the second straight game and playing second base for the Sox. Bill Hall is making his second start of the season at third base. Rookies Ryan Kalish, Daniel Nava and Lars Anderson round out the back half of the lineup with Varitek.

Here is the complete Boston lineup for the season finale:

Eric Patterson, 2B
Jed Lowrie, SS
J.D. Drew, RF
David Ortiz, DH
Bill Hall, 3B
Ryan Kalish, CF
Jason Varitek, C
Daniel Nava, LF
Lars Anderson, 1B
