FOXBORO, Mass. — Bill Belichick wouldn’t immerse himself in the debate.
He was asked numerous times Wednesday about the classic quarterback rivalry between Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, but on each occasion, Belichick passed, preferring to leave that analysis for others.
The Patriots' head coach wasn’t asked directly about who was better — Brady or Manning — but he was asked if he enjoyed and respected the debate, as well as if he could liken it to any rivalries of quarterbacks past.
Eventually, Belichick broke it down the best way he could see fit.
"Look, I have a lot of respect for Peyton Manning," Belichick said. "I think he's a tremendous quarterback. There's no quarterback I'd rather have than Tom Brady."
