In his role as an agitator, Brad Marchand knows he's going to break plenty of rules and spend some time in the penalty box. But last Thursday against Toronto, he broke a rule he didn't even know existed when he was given a two-minute minor for throwing a loose stick back to a teammate.

"I didn't even know that was a penalty," said Marchand. "I knew if you threw a stick over the boards or shot another team's stick away [it was illegal], but I never thought it was a penalty to give your own guy back his stick. … I guess I've got to go through the rulebook again."

The Bruins killed off the penalty en route to a 2-0 victory, which left Marchand in a better mood the following day as he joked about the incident.

"You get bored with the old ones, got to find new ones to break," said Marchand.
