Nathan Horton, Bruins Working With Challenge of Losing Top-Line Center David Krejci While the outlook for David Krejci‘s return is positive, the Bruins are still working on filling his first-line gap while he heals from a moderate concussion.

The Bruins are used to facing adversity, and they’re working on shaking up their offense while Krejci sits out for the week. GM Peter Chiarelli expects the team will rise to the challenge and is looking forward to Patrice Bergeron moving up to the first line with Nathan Horton and Milan Lucic.

“Certainly he can make plays with that group,” Chiarelli told reporters on Monday. “It’s going to be a heavy line.”

Horton is also expecting big things from the change. While he wishes he could have Krejci out there on the ice with him, he knows the Bruins’ depth will get them through.

“It’s no fun when you lose a player like that even for a couple games or however long we’re going to lose him,” Horton told NESN Daily co-host Jade McCarthy. “I think that’s why we have a lot of good players on our team, [we have] a lot of good center men. Obviously it’s nice to have everyone on the ice, but we have people who can play too.”
