Claude Julien Pleased With Team's Attitude, Commitment to Improvement to Begin Season It wouldn't have been surprising if the Bruins struggled early on this season with a season-opening trip to Europe limiting training camp, but it's been the exact opposite. The Bruins are off to a hot start and head coach Claude Julien likes what he sees.

Julien sat down with Andy Brickley on The Big Bad Bruins Show and talked about how successful his team has been in the early parts of this season.

And while Julien and his staff had to worry about the season-opening trip getting in the way of preseason preparations, Julien realized how important the trip was for the B's both on and off the ice.

"When we got to the rink, it was all about hockey, when we left the rink it was time to really enjoy the experience," Julien said. "I thought it worked out well for our team."

It apparently did judging by the Bruins' hot start — something that really flourished when the club returned to America. Julien credits his team's transitional game and special teams as the biggest reasons for the quick start.
