‘Getting Back to Bruins Hockey’ Makes Difference for B’s in Third Period Comeback

'Getting Back to Bruins Hockey' Makes Difference for B's in Third Period Comeback Trailing 4-2 heading into the third period, the message in the Bruins locker room was pretty simple — they needed to play their game.

They did that in the third period, and because of it, the Bruins left Pittsburgh with an impressive 7-4 win. The five-goal third period was highlighted by a pretty goal by Blake Wheeler who was set up from behind the net by veteran Mark Recchi, who contributed a goal and an assist.

"Just getting back to Bruins hockey," said Recchi when asked by Naoko Funayama what the Bruins set out to do in the third period. "Getting pucks deep, getting pucks at the net. They wanted it more than us in the first two periods and it showed, but in the third we came out and played the way we're capable of playing. We capitalized on all of our chances."
