Jets Linebacker Bart Scott Calls Lions ‘Dirtiest Team I’ve Ever Played Against’

It's not surprising that Bart Scott was running his mouth following the Jets' win in Detroit on Sunday. What is suprising, though, is that Scott did so after a somewhat productive game.

The linebacker, who has been virtually nonexistent on stat sheets all season, had five tackles and a sack on Sunday in the Jets' 23-20 overtime win over the Lions, but it was what he said after the game that will be getting news throughout the week.

"They are the dirtiest team I've ever played against," Scott told reporters after the game, according to Fanhouse.com. "Hitting after plays. Taking knees out. Diving at people's knees. Trying to spear people in the back."

Naturally, Scott didn't stop there. Apparently unfamiliar with the NFL's scheduling process, Scott made it clear that he hopes he gets another crack at the Lions next season.

"If that's the case, put us all in a cage and let us go see who comes out on top. Man, I hope they schedule us next year."

The Lions weren't having any of Scott's accusations, however.

"Bart Scott talks too much," Lions center Dominic Raiola said after the game, setting the precedent for what will likely and should be the reaction from  "He needs to shut up. Him and Jason Taylor talk too much. They're just b—-ing to the refs all game. It wasn't that we're playing dirty. Shut up and play football."
