When winning seasons are expected and millions come to see you play every year, it's important to stay in shape. The Red Sox know this as well as anyone out there, and they practice healthy eating habits in order to maintain their edge.

But heck, they're human, and a mound of stuffing with gravy poured on top will be just as hard to resist as it is for your Uncle Jim. So, as we gather around tables in our New England farmhouses and urban row houses this Thursday to give thanks for being able to root for a top-notch franchise, here are a few appetizers from some of the Red Sox players who offered up their favorite dish for Thanksgiving.

Tim Wakefield: Sweet potato casserole.

Kevin Youkilis: My favorite dish at Thanksgiving is a whole bunch of things thrown onto a giant plate. Turkey, gravy, stuffing, green beans, noodles, and sweet potatoes! My mom makes the best cranberry Jell-o salad with marshmallows on top!

Jarrod Saltalamacchia: My favorite dish is the sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top.

Ryan Kalish: My favorite dish is deviled eggs!
