Kid Rock Performance Just a Fringe Benefit of Exciting Patriots-Lions Thanksgiving Matchup (Photos) The Patriots and Lions did not disappoint in the holiday opener on Thanksgiving Day.

While the game opened in the hands of the Lions, the dominance shifted to the Patriots' end in the second half, where New England cruised to a 45-24 victory in the Turkey Day matinee.

It seemed like all elements of the Patriots offense were clicking in the victory. Tom Brady threw four touchdowns for 341 yards, while receivers Wes Welker and Deion Branch each collected two touchdowns apiece.

At the end of the day, however, the power shift had to be credited to rookie cornerback Devin McCourty. His pick in the third quarter was the game-changer for the Patriots and helped lead the team to their Thanksgiving Day victory.
