Lil Wayne Will Likely Return Courtside Now that He's Been Released From Jail Lil Wayne is a free man after spending eight months behind bars for attempted gun possession.

The rapper was released from Rikers Island on Thursday and has big plans for his early days out of prison.

A new album, videos and tour likely will be on the way, but NBA fans want to know when the hoops fan will return to the sidelines.

Weezy’s love for basketball is well-documented. He adores his New Orleans Hornets, but also has been seen supporting the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat.

Wayne’s first stop will be Miami, and now that LeBron James is in town, you never know when these two superstars will be spotted together.
