PITTSBURGH — Left guard Logan Mankins is looking like a guy who never left.
Mankins played wire to wire during the Patriots' 39-26 victory against the Steelers on Sunday, and he was part of an offensive line that kept Tom Brady clean and paced a running attack that did work on Pittsburgh's top-rated unit.
"Logan has added so much in terms of his toughness and his leadership," Brady said.
Mankins played in his first game of the season last week in Cleveland, but he was used on a rotational basis with Dan Connolly. Against the Steelers, though, with Connolly forced to start at right guard in place of the injured Stephen Neal, Mankins was pressed into full-time duty.
"I feel fine," Mankins said after the game. "I was in pretty good shape before I showed up. I had a couple series off last week and none [Sunday], so I'm good to go."
