Is there trouble in Manchester City?
There has been speculation that the players have clashed with manager Roberto Mancini after starting of the season with a worse record than last season.
Manchester City has won five of its 10 games and is behind Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in the Premier League standings.
After losing to the lowly Wolverhampton Wanderers on Oct. 30, speculation began that Mancini no longer had control of the locker room and is close to losing his job. Kolo Toure, however, told BBC Radio Manchester that the rumors are not true.
"No, not at all," Toure said, according to ESPN.com. "We are a team and in any team there are problems, but the important thing is to try to resolve them in the dressing room and the training camp.
"We know we are a big team now," Toure continued. "Everyone expects us to be at the top. We need to take more responsibility. When you play for one of the richest clubs in the world, you just need to deliver on the pitch."
The rumors began to swirl when an unnamed source told The Sun that there was "no respect for the manager" and that "team spirit is falling apart."
It's just the latest chapter in a controversy-filled season. Mancini has also had to brush off rumors that team captain Carlos Tevez is homesick for his native Argentina and would like to leave the team, and Mancini recently voiced his displeasure with the drinking habits of some members of his team. Video was released of four of his players partying in Scotland.
''I am unhappy about this, but for them. We play every three days and it is difficult to recover. I want to resolve this problem in the dressing room, not here (in a press conference),” Mancini said.
