Manny Pacquiao put Antonio Margarito in the hospital on Saturday night, so it’d be easy to understand if Margarito was feeling bitter, but he’s not.

Margarito is accepting his loss with dignity while he recovers in the hospital after having his orbital bone broken in his loss to Pacquiao on Saturday. Margarito also is full of praise for the champion.

“I gave it all I had, but unfortunately, I was not able to get the victory over the best fighter in the world today,” Margarito said in a statement, according to ESPN.com. “As I said before, I was never going to quit and tried to win this fight to the very last minute.”

To his credit, Margarito did not quit or show signs of doing so, but was badly outmatched by Pacquiao, who ended up winning the 12-round bout by unanimous decision.

Margarito is set to have surgery on Tuesday to repair his broken orbital bone.
