Michael Ryder Knew He Wanted to Play in NHL from Youth in Newfoundland

Newfoundland is the closest piece of land to the site of the sinking of the Titanic.  Beyond such, not much has happened on the sleepy Canadian island.

Michael Ryder grew up in the remote locale, playing on a hockey team that could only field two lines,but even from those humble beginnings, he knew that his future rested in the highest levels of the sport.

Ryder sat down with Kathryn Tappen on this week’s The Big Bad Bruins Show and discussed his roots — and whether he or Marc Savard is the better golfer.
