NESN Vault Remembers Carl Yastrzemski's MVP Season This week in NESN Vault, we look back at Carl Yastrzemski‘s season to remember.

43 years ago, Yaz won the MVP award on Nov. 15, 1967. Yaz also won the Triple Crown award that year, making him the last player to accomplish the feat. He hit .326 with 44 home runs and 121 RBIs.

His dominant season propelled the Red Sox to the American League pennant, and during the final two weeks of the race, Yaz hit .513 to help the Red Sox win in one game. The Sox went on to lose to the Cardinals in the World Series 4-3.

Check out the video below of Yastrzemski’s press conference after signing a new contract after the 1967 season.
