After three weeks with the Tennessee Titans, Randy Moss says that he has enjoyed playing with the team because they know how to balance having fun and working hard.
A day after declining to speak to reporters, he spoke Friday about how he is fitting in with the team.
Moss said that the Titans had a great personality before he was on the team. According to Moss, the Titans are a loose team that knows how to have fun while knowing when it's time to work and win games.
"I think these guys really understand that in this locker room," Moss told reporters. "I think it's good to have fun, because if you don't have fun, this game won't last long to you. I've been able to survive 13 years with having fun, cutting up, making guys laugh and them making me laugh. So it goes hand in hand."
Last week Moss made his debut with the team in their 29-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins where he caught one of four passes thrown to him for a total of 26 yards. His first home game with the Titans will be this Sunday against the Redskins (4-5) with Tennessee (5-4) looking to break their two-game losing streak.
Moss is optimistic about fitting in as soon as possible with the offense.
"Hopefully … I'm feeling comfortable here and trying to learn the offense, knowing where to lineup. I still have a little problem here and there," Moss said. "But like I said, I just want to go out and help this team win. And we need this win bad. Hopefully we can get it. Like I said, we had a good week of work, and hopefully, it'll pay off."
It doesn't help that Titans starting quarterback Kerry Collins strained his calf last Sunday against Miami leaving Moss to quickly learn the style of second starting quarterback, Vince Young. After a week of practice with the second-stringer, Moss believes they will be ready for the Redskins.
"It's been a great week of work and preparation. Hopefully, what we did out there this week can hopefully pay off on the field on Sunday," Moss said. "We lost in Miami, and I think guys are disappointed that we did lose that game. Our focus this week is just going out and getting that win."
Moss will most likely make his way further into NFL's history if he catches at least three catches with Young. That mark would give him a total of 952 career catches. If he can do so, he will pass Andrew Reed (951) in eighth place for most career catches.
