The Red Sox have made it publically known that they would like to keep catcher Victor Martinez. Unsurprisingly, they have a lot of company in the V-Mart race.

Six or seven teams appear to be interested in signing the catcher, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

The Tigers, Orioles and Red Sox are most likely showing most interest, while rumors have indicated that the Rockies, Rangers, Mariners and Blue Jays are too.

The Tigers are supposedly making him their No. 1 priority in the hot stove season, but the Sox front office isn't giving up hope.

"[Martinez] would be our first choice at catcher and Adrian [Beltre] would be our first choice at third base," general manager Theo Epstein said last week. "Whether that can be worked out remains to be seen."

Since then Epstein has been heard praising Jarrod Saltalamacchia as the team's possible primary catcher.
