Danny Woodhead has plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Not only did his New England Patriots come up with a huge win over the Detroit Lions, but there are also rumblings of a recent contract extension signed by the running back.

According to a report by the Boston Herald, Woodhead has signed a contract extension with the Patriots through 2012. In addition to his $395,000 salary with the Pats this season, Woodhead received $425,000 as a signing bonus for 2010.

Woodhead, who came to the Patriots after being waived by the New York Jets, is scheduled to earn $550,000 in 2011 and $700,000 in 2012, the Herald reports. He's also eligible for playing time incentives with $575,000 possible in 2011, and $600,000 in 2012.

The running back will get his opportunity to show the Jets what they're missing on Dec. 6, when the Patriots host New York on the national stage.
