David Beckham may no longer be the most dominant footballer in the world, but he is still one of the most powerful — or at least he hopes.

England is desperate to host the 2018 World Cup, and Beckham has offered his presence at the final presentation in hopes of swaying some votes the English way, according to ESPN.com.

Right now, England is projected to finish third in the voting, behind Russia and a Spain/Portugal tag team.
The report claims that the surefooted midfielder will travel to Australia after the MLS season concludes. He will then fly to England for one day before heading to Zurich for the decisive final presentation.

While the 2018 committee may not be able to announce the full delegation team, an insider told the website, "Yes, I can confirm that David Beckham will be in Zurich, and the FA are calling up all the big guns, such as the prime minister, and Prince William is also expected to be there."
