Report: DeMarlo Hale to Interview for Vacant Mets Managerial Job

A Red Sox coach beat out DeMarlo Hale for the Toronto Blue Jays job, but the Red Sox bench coach is now being talked about in connection with another vacant managerial job.

Hale, who was reportedly in the running for the Toronto job that former Red Sox pitching coach John Farrell got, will interview for the open New York Mets job, according to a CSNNE.com report.

The report cites a source that says that Hale is expected to interview for the job that was opened up when the Mets fired previous manager Jerry Manuel following the season.

Hale joined manager Terry Francona's coaching staff in 2006 as the team's third base coach before becoming the club's bench coach before the 2010 season after previous bench coach Brad Mills accepted a managerial job with the Astros.
