New Mets GM Sandy Alderson has begun to set up shop in Queens, and he is looking to an old friend for some help.

According to ESPN.com, the Mets are targeting former Toronto Blue Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi to join Alderson in the front office. Ricciardi, currently an analyst for ESPN, worked with Alderson in Oakland as a scout and special assistant.

Alderson had said that he would be looking to add one or two executives to the office at his introductory news conference. Paul DePodesta of the Padres and Grady Fuson of the A's, two others from Alderson's former clubs, may also be possibilities.

Omar Minaya, who is under contract and still with the organization, may also return, but his future remains up in the air at the present.
