It seems as though Liverpool is determined to leave no stone unturned in their quest to improve their struggling offense.

LFC has been linked to plenty of forwards and wingers in recent weeks, and according to a Sky Sports report, now have interested in Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak as well.

Pogrebnyak, who turns 27 on Monday, currently plays for both German team VfB Stuttgart and the Russian national team. He has already netted five goals and one assist in just six games with Stuttgart this season, and scored eight times in 31 games during his 2009-2010 campaign.

Injuries to Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt have left Liverpool weak up front, and Joe Cole and Milan Jovanovic haven’t inspired much confidence during their increased playing time. Pogrebnyak would add a solid presence to LFC’s offense, but is estimated to cost almost $17 million (£12million) and may not be available.

Liverpool rival Tottenham is also reportedly interested in acquiring the striker’s services.
