Add midfielder Stephen Ireland to the long list of players Liverpool may look to add to its roster at the January transfer window.

According to a Caugthoffside.com report, Ireland is unhappy about his playing time with his current club, Aston Villa, and could be made available to other teams by Villa boss Gerard Houllier.

A former Manchester City player, Ireland could prove to be a huge boon to an LFC attack that has struggled for much of the year. Liverpool has moved out of the relegation zone in recent weeks, but has scored just 16 goals through 14 games.

Ireland, who scored nine goals in 39 appearances in the 2008-2009 season, is estimated to cost nearly $11 million (£8million). Liverpool is expected to be a major player for several big names during the upcoming January transfer window.
