Report: Manny Ramirez Spotted in Toronto

Manny Ramirez recently praised Toronto’s hiring of Red Sox pitching coach John Farrell and said that Toronto was team that he wanted to play for.

Now, he’s been spotted visiting Ontario’s capital city coincidentally on the first two days of the free agency period, according to the Toronto Sun.

Toronto has been considered by many to be one of the few “good fits” for Manny, so his presence served to further speculation.

Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos refused to talk about the situation.

“I wouldn’t comment on player rumors either way,” he said.

Manny batted .298 with a .460 slugging percentage in 2010, but slumped down the stretch after being selected off waivers by the Chicago White Sox in late August.
