A new striking partner for Fernando Torres has been atop many's wishlist for Liverpool come the January transfer window, and another talented option has emerged in that vein.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in a $32 million (20 million pound) move for Roma's Mirko Vucinic. The Montenegrin 27-year-old has scored 11 times in 21 appearances for his country and has netted 36 times in 81 appearances with the club, but he has recently fallen out with boss Claudio Ranieri and will be allowed to leave, despite recently penning a four-year deal.

Vucinic, who is of sufficient size for a striker at 6-foot-1, can also play down the left side, an area that has been a particular problem for Liverpool. Vucinic surely would offer more than the out-of-favor Milan Jovanovic and the young David Ngog at the position, and his presence would allow Dirk Kuyt to maintain his role on the right side.
