The newly created open spot in the Big East is set to be filled by TCU, according to FoxSports.com.

Earlier this month, the Big East announced it would be adding two football teams to the conference. One of those spots is assumed to be filled by Villanova, while the other one was largely up in the air.

According to the report, though, it will be TCU. It is unclear whether the school will join the conference next year or the year after, but Fanhouse.com reports that the school will begin play in the Big East in 2012-13.

The Horned Frogs currently rank third in both the BCS standings and the AP Top 25.
