Ryan Babel has seen limited action in both his Liverpool and Netherlands jerseys in 2010, but he may now get an opportunity with Holland due to injuries.
Babel tweeted on Monday that he had been called up to the Netherlands squad with Wednesday's friendly against Turkey in Amsterdam impending, though it is not yet clear who he will be replacing on the roster. Both Mark van Bommel and Robin van Persie have been included in Bert van Marwijk's squad despite rehabilitating injuries at Bayern and Arsenal respectively.
Babel has played less than 30 minutes for the Orange in 2010 as a late substitute, and while he was a part of the World Cup team that lost to Spain in the Finals, he never saw action in South Africa.
The enigmatic forward has scored five times in his Netherlands jersey and is generally said to be more effective for country than for club.
Babel has struggled to break into Roy Hodgson's side as well, not starting a single Premier League game yet this season.
