‘The Association: Boston Celtics’ to Debut Dec. 3 on ESPN

The Boston Celtics are one of the NBA's historically great franchises, and they will be honored accordingly.

ESPN Films and NBA Entertainment have joined together to produce The Association: Boston Celtics, a five-part series that follows the C's on their quest for an 18th NBA title this year. The show debuts on Friday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. ET, prior to ESPN's coverage of the Celtics-Bulls game.

The cameras will provide up-close looks at Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Shaquille O'Neal and all of the Celtics' players and coaches throughout the 2010-11 season. The film also will portray the city of Boston itself, and how the Celtics are ingrained into the fabric of one of the most passionate sports cities in America.

Last year, the Los Angeles Lakers were the focus of The Association series and ended up winning the NBA title over the Celtics. Boston hopes the same fate is held for the team featured in the made-for-TV film series.
