Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas is off to a hot start and the league has taken notice.

Thomas has been named the First Star of the Week, for the week ending Oct. 31, edging San Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton and Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith, both named second and third stars, respectively.

In his last two starts, The Tank stopped all 49 shots he faced in back-to-back shutout victories over the Maple Leafs and Senators to improve his record to 6-0-0. The 2009 Vezina Trophy winner leads the league with three shutouts, a 0.50 GAA and a .984 save percentage.

He is the first Bruins goaltender to start the season 6-0-0 since Hockey Hall of Famer Cecil "Tiny" Thompson in 1937-38.

Thornton led all scorers last week with eight points (three goals, five assists) in two games while Keith led all defensemen in scoring last week with seven points (one goal, six assists).
