Bruins rookie Tyler Seguin and Edmonton's Taylor Hall were indelibly linked last season as they spent all year facing the constant questions about which of them would go first overall in the June draft. Hall ultimately was taken No. 1 by the Oilers, while the Bruins were more than happy to select Seguin with the second pick.

But as they've both embarked upon what should be long and successful NHL careers, the comparisons aren't likely to stop any time soon. It doesn't help that they have a knack for enjoying milestones on the same night.

While Seguin scored his first goal on Boston ice last Thursday against Toronto to upstage Phil Kessel's latest return to the Garden, Hall finally scored his first NHL goal the same night in Columbus. Seguin, who bonded with Hall as they endured the media onslaught leading up to the draft together, was happy to hear that his friendly rival had finally gotten on the board.

"That's good," said Seguin when informed of Hall's goal. "I know the media's been on him a bit to get that first goal so he must be thrilled that it's out of the way."
