Dominic Rhodes, Sloppy Colonials Play Paces Tuskers to 41-7 Victory in Orlando

Final, Tuskers 41-7: Ryan Perrilloux fumbled after getting smacked by Eric Moore, and the game ended on a Tuskers kneel-down.

This was a thorough whooping by the Florida Tuskers. In fact, the 41-7 score is the biggest margin of victory in UFL history.

Hartford is now officially eliminated from championship contention.

Meanwhile, Florida faces Omaha next week to determine which team will face Las Vegas in the UFL championship game.

If the Tuskers play anywhere close to as well as they played tonight, I like their chances against any team in the league.

Fourth Quarter, 2:00, Tuskers 41-7: This game may be long gone for the Colonials, but Ryan Perrilloux has given Hartford fans reason to hope for the future.

After his touchdown drive at the end of the third quarter, Perrilloux has stayed in the game for each of the Colonials' last three drives. And despite a complete lack of help from his offensive line, R.P. has managed to display his incredible arm and decent running ability.

He reminds me of David Garrard — just with much less talent around him.

Third Quarter, 0:34, Tuskers 41-7: There's life on the Hartford sideline!

Ryan Perrilloux led a magnificent drive down the field, culminated by the QB taking it into the endzone with his legs on a 4th and 5 from the 13 yard line.

The Colonials are on the board — ain't no stoppin' them now!

Third Quarter, 4:41, Tuskers 41-0: After a relatively uneventful seven minutes, the Tuskers finally get back on the board.

This is a completely one-sided game, so much so that you can't even expect Hartford to score — its drives are just bridges of time in between Florida's touchdowns and field goals.

Ryan Perrilloux will be coming out for the next drive to play quarterback, so maybe he can get something going for the Colonials.

Meanwhile, Dominic Rhodes now has 102 yards on the ground tonight. He is clearly the best RB in the UFL.

Halftime, Tuskers 38-0: The Greisen-Gessnar combination is at it again.

The Tuskers stormed down the field at the end of the half, executing the two-minute drill to perfection, before Greisen connected on his second TD to Gessnar.

Hartford is going to have to do some serious soul searching in the locker room during halftime. That, or they're going to have to sneak out onto the bus.

Second Quarter, 4:27, Tuskers 31-0: Is there even a need to play a second half in this game?

Dominic Rhodes is clearly overqualified for the UFL. He just took the ball from the 30 yard-line to the endzone in a straight line, 15 of those yards came with a man literally on his back.

Rhodes now has 11 carries for 55 yards.

Second Quarter, 10:57, Tuskers 24-0: This is starting to get brutal for the Colonials.

Chas Gessner reeled in a 15-yard TD pass from Chris Greisen, and the Tuskers are all over the scoreboard.

Paul Crane, HDNet's sideline reporter, on the Colonials: "It's been frustrating, needless to say."

Well said, Paul.

Second Quarter, 14:56, Tuskers 17-0: Nick Novak has extended the Tuskers' lead with a short field goal.

Florida is cruising, and could be looking at a trip to the UFL championship game against Las Vegas. If they hold on to beat Hartford, then beat Omaha next week, the Tuskers will face Vegas for the league title in two weeks.

First Quarter, 5:40, Tuskers 14-0: The Colonials might be overmatched tonight.

Tuskers linebacker Terrence Melton just recovered a fumble and took it about 70 yards for a touchdown, after Ryan Perrilloux was leading Hartford down the field on a pretty good drive.

Tory Harrison fumbled the ball as he was being tackled by Mckinley Boykin. The play was reviewed but to no avail.

First Quarter, 9:31, Tuskers 7-0: Dominic Rhodes is human!

After the Tuskers got the ball back in the red zone with a great chance to get a big early lead, Rhodes fumbled the ball on a second-down rush.

The Colonials have regained posession, making McCown's last interception somewhat irrelevant.

First Quarter, 10:42, Tuskers 7-0: Tony Taylor has put the Tuskers right back into scoring position.

The Tuskers linebacker picked off McCown and ran the ball back to the 15 yard-line, giving Florida a chance to improve on its seven-point lead.

First Quarter, 11:43, Tuskers 7-0: And just like that, Dominic Rhodes has given the Tuskers a lead.

Rhodes slammed the ball into the endzone from the three-yard line, but only after Tuskers receiver Maurice Price made a sensational catch down the left sideline.

Rhodes has also officially passed Booker for the UFL lead in rushing yards. Booker only led by two yards heading into the game, so it will likely be a see-saw battle for the league lead throughout tonight's game.

First Quarter, 13:57, 0-0: The Colonials went three plays for no yards and were forced to punt.

Booker gained a yard on second down, but Josh McCown threw two incomplete passes on first and third down.

7:05 p.m.: The Colonials have won the coin toss, and will receive the ball to begin the ballgame.

In other related news, Kid Rock's "Born Free" could be heard on the loudspeaker right before the toss. Seriously, is nobody sick of that song yet?

6:45 p.m.: We're about 15 minutes to game time, which means we're about 15 minutes away from watching a great UFL runningback matchup.

Hartford's Lorenzo Booker, who leads the league in rushing, takes on Florida's Dominic Rhodes, who is setting the pace in rushing touchdowns.

The game is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. on HDNet, and can also be viewed here.

8 a.m.: The UFL championship game isn't for another few weeks, but the Hartford Colonials have officially entered do-or-die mode.

Hartford (2-4) heads down to Orlando on Thursday night to face the Florida Tuskers (3-3) in a game that could knock the Colonials out of championship contention with a loss.

A win, however, could set the stage for a potential "playoff game" between Hartford and and the Las Vegas Locomotives (5-2) on Nov. 20 at Rentschler Field.

But first thing's first for head coach Chris Palmer and the Colonials — beat the Tuskers.

The kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at the Citrus Bowl.
