Vote: With the Patriots and Jets Both Playing on Thursday, Who Are You Most Excited to Watch on Sunday? As the regular season nears its end, two trends predictably unfold. Games become increasingly meaningful, and the notion of NFL football being a Sunday activity becomes decreasingly the reality.

In week 16 for example, there will be contests on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Thanksgiving week has recently been modified to fit a third game on Thursday, and this year the result was that both the Patriots and Jets have already played — and won — come the weekend.

Still, even though there won't be much at stake as far as the AFC East is concerned on Sunday, some great matchups do loom.

Many would argue that the league's most exciting team is Michael Vick's Philadelphia Eagles, and they'll face a tough test at 7-3 Chicago, playing without cornerbacks Asante Samuel and Ellis Hobbs. Chicago has constantly been labeled a pretender despite their winning ways, and they'll surely be looking to definitively prove the contrary on Sunday.

If the Eagles aren't the best team in the NFC, either Green Bay or Atlanta surely must hold that title at the present. Two of the league's most balanced teams will square off in the Georgia Dome in what could be a preview of the NFC Title game. Home-field advantage is of the utmost importance to both squads — given Green Bay's edge in the frozen tundra and Matt Ryan's near-perfect record in Atlanta.

Of course, there is also the annual Chargers-Colts shootout. The game is generally full of touchdowns, turnovers, big plays and — usually — a Colts loss. Both teams are considered Super Bowl contenders, yet neither has a very good win-loss mark at 5-5 and 6-4 respectively. Whoever loses this one will likely be spending playoff time either on the road or in front of their televisions.
